Ancient City Samut Prakan is Thailand’s invaluable attraction that tells Thai history, culture, and tradition from past to present through the life-size building models and the actual historical buildings. Tiewlasud would like to invite everyone to admire the greatness of Thai at the Ancient City Samut Prakan.

Ancient City Samut Prakan is the world’s largest outdoor museum with the area of 800 Rai by the intention of Mr. Prapai Viriyaphant (the founder of the Sanctuary of Truth) to preserve the roots of Thai for younger generations. Therefore, temples, palaces, castles, and other architectures both replica and actual ones were gathered here to be preserved and restored. There are six area available as follows;

 

1. Northern Thailand

Here, visitors can see a long history of Lanna civilization through Chamathevi Chedi, Ched Yod Chedi, Vihara Luang Wat Phra That, and etc. The highlight of this area is a teak wood temple, Wat Jong Kham, connecting vihara, pavilions and monk’s house. 

 

2. Central Thailand

This area showcases Khun Phaen House, Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, Phra Rong Krung Thon Buri, Ancient Floating Market, and etc. The unique feature of this area is Sri Sanpetch Throne Hall where the Ancient City has studied various historical evidences and recreated the throne hall.           

 

3. Northeastern Thailand

This area is full of historical, artistic and cultural attractions such as Khao Phra Viharn, Phra That Ya Ku, and Prasat Hin Phimai. The highlight of this area is Phra That Phanom located on an upland where visitors can see the surrounding area of the Ancient City as well as Pak Nam city, Samut Prakan.

 

4. Eastern Thailand

In this seaside-city area, visitors can see Phra Apaimanee Garden, Thai junk, Rainbow Bridge as well as the Buddha's Footprint Saraburi, located next to the Naga Stairway.

 

5. Southern Thailand

The Southern Area exhibits Phra Brom Chaiya relics, Manohra gardens and a replica of the goddess Pallava statue. This area is adjacent to the ancient market where visitors can wonder, relax and buy souvenirs.

 

6. Creative Design Area

This is the highlight of the Ancient City because most buildings in this area are built by imagination according to historical records and inscriptions. And some places can not be found anymore such as Haw Phra Kaew and Hor Kham Mueang Lampang.

 

The Ancient City Samut Prakan has a well managed and allocated area with facilities. Visitors can drive their own car, rent a bike or a golf cart to drive inside. There is also a tram service available.

Transportation: 8.5 km. away from Samut Prakan downtown taking around 15 minutes to reach there by car.
Entrance Fee: Thai Adults 350 THB, Children 175 THB
                      Foreign Adults 700 THB, Children 350 THB
